Where tradition meets the modern world, and healing begins with the wisdom of plants.
I am a traditional knowledge conservationist, clinical herbalist, and modern research enthusiast
For over 20 years, I’ve walked the path of herbal medicine, learning from master healers, Indigenous knowledge keepers, and modern clinicians alike. My work is rooted in the belief that plants are more than remedies — they are storytellers, connectors, and catalysts for transformation.
My journey has taken me from the misty hills of the UK to the vibrant landscapes of East Africa, where I witnessed the power of community-centered medicine and the sacred responsibility of preserving traditional knowledge. In 2011, I founded the Herbal Anthropology Project to help protect and honor these traditions.
As the former owner of The Scarlet Sage Herb Co. in San Francisco and founder of Land of Verse, I’ve guided thousands of people toward greater vitality; whether through a carefully blended tea, a personalized tincture, or the deep listening that begins every consultation.
Today, in my private practice, I help people find their way back to balance: easing stress, navigating hormonal changes, restoring sleep, and strengthening the body’s natural resilience. My approach blends the poetry of tradition of Ayurveda, traditional Scandinavian plants, local California herbs, and Western Herbalism, with the precision of modern science, creating remedies that are as unique as the people I serve.
For me, herbal medicine is more than a profession, it is a lifelong devotion to the plants, to my ancestors, to the earth, and to the well-being of all who seek their wisdom.
I work with people seeking to find balance and wholeness with plants and purpose
Finding true health is for everyone. Finding your path to achieve it is individual.
Seeking out a herbal medicine path is natural. Everyone has herbal medicine in their ancestry. All of our ancestors relied on herbs for healing. Connecting with their traditions, while exploring their modern research is where the magic happens.
As a science-minded skeptic, I enjoy understanding empirical data around plant medicine. As a person who is always seeking out my Indigeneity and belonging, traditional wisdom preservation is essential for my soul’s wellbeing.
Each person has a story that encouraged them to seek out ‘alternative’ forms of healing; whether through an illness or an ah-ha moment.
This is mine.
